I purchased 2 of these chairs, despite my concern about buying sight unseen, over the internet. They arrived within a few days of the order; one chair was in perfect condition, but the other was damaged, possibly in transport. Amazon made it so incredibly easy to return and within a few days I had a new chair, in perfect condition. I've only been using the chairs for 2-3 weeks, so can't attest to long term durability, but so far, they appear well made and sturdy. The chairs are attractive and comfortable. If I can make room for more, I intend to purchase 2 additional chairs. I would recommend the chairs for their great quality and price and Amazon for their excellent service.

I am a furniture snob and I hate particle board anything or cheap cutting corners... well you know the stuff. These are solid wood and are very nice looking and feel of quality. Very pottery barn without having to buy the whole barn. Very strong and sturdy. I put some sticky felt circles from wal mart on the bottoms of the legs as not to scratch the hard woods.

We replaced our old cargo-style kitchen table a few months back when our family grew to 6 people, and we needed more space. I liked the look of black chairs with our new cherry-stained table (not purchased from this company). I wanted chairs that wouldn't look bad if they were abused by our four kids under 10 years old and would last awhile. These chairs fit the bill. We purchased eight of them for when we need extras for guests and the extras even look beautiful in the living and family rooms. They are well constructed and endure a lot of banging around by the kids. Just a quick wipedown and wah-lah... clean! And if corners are banged up and paint is removed over time, they will still keep their charm. I only wish our table would withstand the abuse as well. When the budget allows, I plan to buy a couple of more for when we have large dinner parties. They will look great scattered around the house as extra seating. Oh, and as a surprise, they arrived fully assembled ...I'm so used to "assemble it yourself" furniture. I bought these when there was free shipping, so the price was right... I think these boxes took up half of the delivery truck! The boxes were huge and filled up my foyer, but what a joy to not have to put them together myself. Besides, with 8 super-huge boxes... imagine the fun my kids had in building a fort in the basement. LOL

Where to begin? The shipment didn't contain the correct hardware for assembly. Assembly was absurdly difficult. The bottom rails didn't fit onto the rest of the chair, and when we finally got one of them together, the chair wouldn't sit properly, wobbled horribly.

Really disappointed. Packed them right up and sent them back. Won't purchase for this company again.

I guess it was my fault, but I just assumed that it included chairs, simply because it shows them in the picture and does not say anywhere that they are not included. Most of the ones that have chairs in the photo "just for looks" say that they are sold seperately. This one does not.
