 3'7 x 9'8 VERY PLUSH SEMI ANTIQUE PERSIAN VILLAGE HAMEDAN ZANGAN KURDISH RUNNER RUG   

Beautiful tribal persian rugs are made in the city and in the surrounding area of Hamadan in Northwestern Iran. Hamadans are quite durably constructed due to the rugged wool spun from hardy sheep in the higher, cooler altitudes. The patterns vary in rugs from this city from geometric, to floral or overall Herati designs. Hamadan is an important city in the carpet industry because along with its many surrounding villages, it produces countless numbers of floor pieces that are all unique and remarkable in their own way.   This Khamseh has nothing to do with the Southwest Persian tribal confederation. Khamseh refers to the area north of Hamadan and south of Zangan. It is one of those areas that appears on rug book maps but nowhere else. Nonetheless it is a major production area of kurdish rugs from north of the Hamadan area.

Up for bid is an original 1870 Atlas of Ross County, Ohio. The original was evidently getting pretty rough and someone salvaged it and rebound it. They did a beautiful job although the first few pages with date and publisher are missing. I know it to be 1870's though as the census listed is the 1870. It begins with page 5 and ends with 83. These old atlases are being dismantled for their maps so a complete one is getting more and more difficult to find. Due to the rare nature of the info contained wherewithin, I will not be allowing a return on this item. Feel free to email with any questions. Shipping is $12.00 in the continental US. As unique as the sound of a violin crafted by Antonio Stradivarius, this pattern reflects the majestic style of the 18th century. The fully formed acanthus leaf that curls back over the tip hints at the form of a violin's scroll and leads to a serene pattern of descending dew drops flowing front to back. Measues aprx 10 in. L, aprx 4 1/4 in. handle. Minor surface scratching from normal use.

DESCRIPTION:   This is an unframed  signed oil painting on canvas mounted on board. It has lots of thick paint and expressive brush work. It measures 24x15 inches and has a VERY LOW starting price.  The retail gallery value of this would be $1200-$1400 (framed). It will be  finished with a cleanable varnish for protection.

Because of e-selling I've been able to show my work to an awful lot of
