Description: This attractive original old antique print / plate / map originates from 1885-1907 editions of a famous German encyclopedia: 'Meyers grosses Konversations-Lexikon.', published in Leipzig and Vienna. Meyers Konversations-Lexikon was a major German encyclopedia that existed in various editions from 1839 until 1984, when it merged with the Brockhaus encyclopedia. Several of the plates were also used in Dutch Encyclopedia's like Winkler Prins.Artists and Engravers: The original founder and publisher who initiated this famous enxyclopedia was Joseph Meyer (1796-1856, Hildburghausen, Germany).

Subject: Map: 'Krain-Kustenland'. (Krain Coastland.) We carry slightly different maps from different editions. Please inquire.
Condition: Excellent. General age related toning and occasional light staining from handling as visible on image.
Size (in cm): The overall size is ca. 30.5 x 24 cm. The image size is ca. 27 x 21.5 cm.

A section of eastern Philadelphia map is on the back 

This is an ORIGINAL...NOT A REPRINT... 123 +++ year-old Undated atlas map...The total size of the map including the borders measures 13 1/2 " x 10 1/2 " and would look wonderful matted and framed.

The map includes Numerous Points of interest, streets, and railroads, Parks, Cemeteries, Theatres, Chuyrches, Hotels, Prominent buildings, etc. Great Historic Item.

NOTE CONDITION: The map has some border and corner wear INCLUDING: some smudges and browning and small spots on the borders.. and a couple of very small spots on the map itself..  Otherwise, it is in Nice Condition...

Offered is this Vintage 1932 CAPE COD MAP by Walter M. Gaffney of Hyannis, MA. The map is marked on base>>>"Drawn, Copyrighted, and Published 1932 Walter M. Gaffney-Hyannis". I purchased this map directly from his daughter at a church sale on Cape Cod!! She told me of its history!

 

Beautiful color map of 1932 CAPE COD. Superbly done in bright colors dividing the towns. Has a decorative boarder around the map. There is a population graph showing the populations in the towns in 1890 and 1930!! Embellished with drawings of lighthouses, ships, whales and birds.    

                                                                                                                                                            

Mr. Walter M. Gaffney, the artist of this map was a very well known Architect on Cape Cod. His daughter said that he made and sold these maps during the Depression when work was scarce. 

Map Measures 17 1/2" X 21 1/2" 

A beautiful, colorful Cape Cod map for the Beach House!!

Includes Numerous Points of interest... Freight Sheds, Railway Works, St. Ann's Church + numerous other churches, Water Works, Theatre Royal, City Hall, Car Shop, Tobacco Factory, Prisons, Skating Rink, Dieu Hotel and numerous other points of interest, cemeteries, etc...also includes roads, rails, , etc.

NOTE CONDITION: Great Historic Item that has lite border wear and there is a small tear on the side border...can easily be matted over... Otherwise, it is in Nice Condition...
